Scissor Sisters And Kelis Perform at Malta's Isle of MTV 2010

The Mediterranean island of Malta once again provided the magical backdrop for the musical extravaganza, Isle of MTV on June 30th.

As the sun shimmered and began to set, Kelis, wearing a glamorous multi-coloured Mara Hoffman sundress and vintage military-style hat, kicked off the evening with a sensational performance which had the audience mesmerised and in awe. While one of this summer's hit tracks, "Acapella", played out, a deluge of specially made confetti rained down on Malta's music lovers.

Scissor Sisters didn't just "Take Their Mama Out", they had 50,000 music fans up on their feet, partying to the infectious beat of hits such as "Laura" and "I Don't Feel Like Dancing", plus new track "Fire With Fire".  Looking utterly 'filthy/gorgeous', the saucy set got so hot that Ana Matronic stripped down to her bra, Jake Shears strutted his stuff bare-chested and the crowd definitely 'felt like dancing'..and absolutely did.

For the fourth year running, MTV and Malta Tourism Board put together an unforgettable show which the rest of Europe, along with audiences in Australia, South East Asia and Japan, can enjoy later this summer as a one-hour television programme, Isle of MTV Malta Special, when it premieres across MTV's international channels on August 30th. 

Triple BRIT Award-winning American band Scissors Sisters, who draw inspiration from disco, glam rock, pop and the club scene, performed material from their new album Night Work released June 28th Internationally through Polydor UK. Their debut album sold more than 3.5 million copies, putting them in the top 20 of all time in the UK and their smash hit "Don't Feel Like Dancing" topped the charts at #1 in 10 Countries.  MTV and the Island of Malta were thrilled to welcome this amazing band for this year's Summer Spectacular, Isle Of MTV. 

Award Winning Superstar and the original female Innovator Kelis also performed songs from her new album Flesh Tone (released May 17th Internationally through Interscope) and many of her smash hit world wide Anthems. Kelis is a Brit Award winner and Grammy nominated female, who's received critical acclaim for her global success with "Milkshake" and her latest single, "Acapella", has already been given Global Priority Status across the International network of MTV Channels and debuted as TOP 5 single in the UK!  Kelis was a co-host for the 2006 EMAs in Copenhagen, and is looking forward to returning to the MTV stage as a performer.

Previous performers at the Isle of MTV main event include Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias, N*E*R*D, Shaggy, and OneRepublic.

MTV's cameras will capture all the action from this year's Isle of MTV, which will broadcast as an hour-long special airing across MTV's international channel network from 30 August.
